Tying shoes !

SOME GREAT IDEAS TO START WITH WHEN SHOWING YOUR YOUNGSTER HOW TO TIE SHOES:

1- Practice with the tie on a bathrobe, first.
It's the same movement without needing fine motor skills!
Then - Get two black shoe laces and two white shoe laces and cut them in half. Tie one of the back laces and one of the white laces together in the middle. Then with each one of you having your own shoe to practice with in front of you, show how to lace up a shoe one small step at a time, stopping each step for your little one to try what you do. The different colors on each side of the shoe will give a better chance to see the crossing over and pulling through manuevers.
